Canada publishes live births by month of birth, so the Canadian pages rank months. Over 34 complete years, 1991–2024, and 12,471,773 live births, the busiest month per day is September at 105.6 of an average day and the quietest is December at 92.5. The whole seasonal swing is 13.2 points, far smaller than the weekday swing in daily U.S. data.
Month length first
A 31-day month has eleven per cent more days than a 28-day one. Every figure below divides by the true number of days that month held across the 34 years counted, leap days included, so 12,419 days in total.

Limits of a monthly table
- Months, so month ranks. Every figure here is a monthly figure.
- Place of residence of the mother. The selected series is "Canada, place of residence of mother". A birth to a Canadian-resident mother is counted here wherever it happened.
- 2024 is preliminary. The table's notes mark the latest year preliminary.
- Revisions and one known coverage gap. Statistics Canada states that previous years have been revised, and its notes record a Nova Scotia coverage issue affecting 2021. Those years are shown as published, with the caveat attached.
- Reconciliation. The published "Total, month of birth" row is excluded from every sum and used only as a check: each year's twelve monthly counts add up to that year's published total exactly, in all 34 years.
